Intimate Redbird Wedding Dinner

Los Angeles, CA

redbird wedding

Andrea and Shima’s candlelit wedding dinner at Redbird LA was colorful, romantic, and so heartwarming.

As their photographer, I absolutely loved capturing them and their loved ones in this stunning Downtown restaurant. Andrea and Shima opted for an intimate dinner with their closest family and friends to celebrate their wedding (they married earlier in the month at the Beverly Hills Courthouse), and this was the perfect venue! Redbird in Downtown Los Angeles is a versatile venue for weddings of all sizes. There are multiple event spaces couples can choose from, both indoor and outdoor.

I photographed this wedding dinner on 35mm film and digital, and all of the photos you see in this post were taken on film. Because the lighting was super moody and dim, shooting on film was a fun challenge! I leaned into lots of flash photos, with some moody no-flash photos as well. The rich red florals surrounded by the deep teal walls made for a gorgeous color combo.

Redbird Wedding Dinner in the Cardinal’s Quarters

Andrea and Shima hosted their dinner in the Cardinal’s Quarters, one of Redbird’s more intimate spaces. It it located at the very top of the building, and accommodates 44 guests seated, or 75 standing. There is an attached balcony with downtown views, a small separate bar room, and a beautiful vintage mint green tiled bathroom. It’s perfect for couples looking for an elegant and vintage space for their wedding reception – plus, the food is delicious!

It was nearly dark when I arrived, but I was able to get some outdoor shots on the balcony before sunset. Next, we went inside for some portraits. Andrea and Shima loved the staircase and elevator at the venue, so we made sure to get some shots with those!

Shima wore a chic white satin dress with black accents, and Andrea donned an understated brown suit.

I loved photographing the red florals in the space! Nisa Bees Bouquets did an amazing job with the floral design, using bright red roses, dahlias, ranunculus, and tulips for a beautiful tablescape. I loved how each floral arrangement was a little bit different. Red candles and adorable cartoon menus completed the table settings, and everything looked so gorgeous. The couple also had Mariachi Tierra Mia play for the first portion of their night, which was so much fun.

Guests started to trickle in, and the evening began with cocktails and mingling. I’m such a fashion girl, so I always love seeing what guests wear to weddings. This was a stylish bunch!

After cocktails and mingling, guests were seated for dinner. Food was served family-style, and it looked delectable. Following dinner, family and friends gave wonderful speeches and enjoyed some insanely yummy ube-flavored cake from Flouring LA.

I had so much fun photographing Andrea and Shima’s stylish intimate wedding, and I am so honored that they chose me for their day! This was an amazing group of vendors and a truly special night.
